Philippe Miquel is the Chief Executive Officer of Western and Central Africa, ENGIE, a French electric utility company. Miguel graduated with a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore (USA) in 1996. He started his professional career in the Research and Development Division of Gaz de France as project manager. From 2000 to 2008, he held several positions in the Marketing and Sales Division of Gaz de France. He then headed the Economic Studies Department of GDF SUEZ Global Gas & LNG. In April 2010, Miquel was named Chief of Staff to the Executive Vice President of GDF SUEZ. He then moved to Yaoundé in July 2013 as Resident Director of GDF SUEZ LNG Cameroon. He is also a Foreign Trade Adviser to the French Minister of Commerce.
